This extension combines allows Vonage users to dial numbers from Firefox or Thunderbird.
News (2/3/06): The update.rdf and the extension were both modified to be compatible with the compatibility release of Firefox (1.5.0.1). The extension should work with all future compatibility releases for 1.5. Thanks for your patience.
News (12/1/05): The update.rdf file was modified to allow compatibility with Firefox 1.5. No change was made to the extension and minimal testing was done. Please let me know if you have any problems.
News (8/4/05): Version 0.5 was released tonight to fix a bug that was causing compatibility issues with the RadialContext extension. The real beneficiaries of this fix are Thunderbird users because numbers can once again be dialed from inside mail messages either by selection or by automatic search. This feature was apparently broken in the last version. Special thanks to Jeff Bernstein for reporting the bug.
News (4/19/05): The extension was updated for Firefox 1.03. I snuck in some additional phone number formats and changed the code that searches for numbers. In most cases simply putting your pointer near a phone number and right clicking will find the number.
I am concerned about right click speed on complex pages. If you have trouble please email me.
Click2Call also works from the Thunderbird address book. Select a contact and choose from a list of numbers for that contact.
This extension is designed for use from the US and requires
VOIP service from Vonage. It works with most formats of phone numbers.
Note: Click2Call (a service from Vonage) is not currently available for Vonage Candian customers.
Install Click2Call Thunderbird users should save this extension to disk and load it into Thunderbird from Tools -> Extensions -> Install.
Once this extension is installed, go to Tools -> Extensions to set your Vonage username, password and from phone number.
